August 18th 2008 - After 36 holes at the Indiana Section PGA Professional
Championship, Dean Prange of Hillcrest Country Club leads the field at
3-under-par 137. His 66 in the afternoon round was the lowest round of the day,
and he credited his putting. “I finally started making putts in the afternoon.
In the morning round I had 34 putts, and in the afternoon I had only 28,” he
explained.
Prange has qualified for the PGA Professional National Championship twice
before, with his most recent appearance two years ago in Oregon. Indiana has 7 qualifying spots, and Bill Schumaker of Crooked Lake Golf Course will take one of those by having an exemption he earned when he was the National Champion in 1984.
Jim Ousley of Tippecanoe Country Club stands alone in second
place at 1-under-par 139. |
