PGA Professional Bill Schumaker of Columbia City
knows how to pick a partner. Teaming with amateur and long-time friend, Sam
Till, Jr. the pair carded a remarkable 14-under par using the best ball on each
hole. What is even more amazing is that Till carded a round of 60 on his own
ball. Schumaker surmised that he “birdied the first four holes and his score
only counted once.” “I helped on a couple of holes.”
Schumaker and Till are the defending champions of
the Senior Pro Am event. They fired a 122 in 2006, and hope to better that
score in 2007. The second and final round will be Friday, August 3 at The
Brickyard.
